Scope
Social Media Manager
Ttile: Marketing Manager for Buildings & Food
Staff Point of Contact: Creative Director, Heidi Rolf
Location: Currently — Remote / Prosperity Social Club / Spotted Owl Tremont / Spotted Owl Akron
Part-Time: 25hrs a week
Programs we use: The Adobe Suite (not required) / Canva / Prequel / Splice / Asana / Slack / Later
Education: An educational background in Marketing is preferred but not a requirement
Experience: 1-3 years in Marketing, experience in Design, Photography, or Video a plus but not a requirement.
Description
Using style guides and provided content, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for scheduling posts on Instagram & Facebook weekly, for each day that each establishment is open, during the most popular hours to share. Additionally they will be expected to spend time at each bar at least 2 days a week to capture some content in real time that will be shared to stories using our tone, while keeping our values in mind. They will support the Creative Director in coming up with and executing creative campaigns to stay top of mind as well as to elevate each brand based on quarterly goals. They would be expected to attend any events thrown by the bars to capture content at said events, often but not always with assistance from the Creative Director. They would not be responsible for any major design or photography needs, but would have to do some minimal creative design using apps such as prequel, splice, or whatever they prefer to create quick creative content to share to our stories and feeds. They should also engage with other accounts on social media to create/maintain camaraderies with other businesses as well as to form goodwill with our followers and prospective followers. They would engage with any comments or incoming messages and let the Creative Director or Owner know if it’s something they need to address personally.

Accounts for Approximately 25% of Work
Using the later app to schedule a daily post to each of the establishments’ Facebooks & Instagrams using the content provided by the Creative Director at least but not limited to the days each establishment is open, based on specials being offered or goals related to each day/week.
Posts should all be scheduled by Monday of the week they are intended for so that the Creative Director and/or copy editor have time to review them for the week. Any changes would be made by Tuesday.

Accounts for approximately 50% of work.
Spending time at each establishment weekly both during regular service and behind-the-scenes to gather some in-the-moment content to post to our stories. This time should be planned according to any events or specials that may be going on, and based on goals established by the Creative Director & Marketing Manager at the beginning of the week.
Specifically creating lots of creative videos based on style guides provided for each establishment, engaging with customers/staff and being the “face” or “personality” of the company.
Looking for lots of initiative in this area: posting creatively and thoughtfully to stay top-of-mind, and being able to take the ball and run with it.

Approximately 15% of the work.
Weekly meetings via slack, phone, or zoom depending on needs with the Creative Manager to go over weekly goals and to allow the Marketing Manager to make any design or photo requests, or get clarity on any expectations.
Monthly/bi-monthly meetings in person to talk about overall strategy, and to team build.
Sharing any ideas they may have based on their time in the “field”.
Letting Creative Director know if they are in need of any specific content.
Looking for someone to think creatively and innovatively.

Replying to & liking comments + messages
Letting the Creative Director/Owner know about anything they should personally address
Using the explore feature to like content related to our business and removing any suggested content that doesn’t align.
Liking & engaging with content from businesses we care about, or might want a relationship with
Keeping tabs on what the competition is doing
Saving any content that could be inspiration for future campaigns/photo shoots
